Elexis Santa Cruz – Certified Yoga Instructor
Elexis attended her first yoga class in the summer of 2016 and immediately fell in love with not only the physicality of the practice, but the mental and emotional aspects of yoga. After a year of exploring the practice as a student, she completed her 200 hour yoga certification in July of 2017 and began teaching classes immediately after.
Over the past two and a half years of teaching, Elexis has found a deep connection of mind and body through the linking of breath and movement found in yoga. Her yoga mat has become a favorite way to work through the challenges that can be found in life, a place of mental and emotional healing.
Elexis has a strong desire to help others explore the many benefits that keeping a regular yoga practice can provide. Her favored teaching style is a slow paced flow, focusing on proper body alignment in poses and active engagement of muscles, building a balance of strength and flexibility while safely encouraging the body to move deeper into each pose.
When not on her yoga mat, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and backpacking or curled up with a book and a cup of tea. In addition to teaching yoga, she has a fondness for training dogs and helping people develop a healthy relationship with their four-legged friends.
Elexis will begin a 300 hour yoga certification program the summer of 2020, further expanding her knowledge of yoga with the desire to continue growing as an instructor.
